Angel B. Fant (she/her)

Angel is the Creative Director for No Punching Bag, a fashion brand for social change. She believes in social responsibility and accountability. More importantly she believes art is necessary for all human life. She is a visual artist at heart and advocate for the arts. Angel is a self-taught artist. After a decade of practicing art as an adult, she attended UNCSA. In 2015 she was part of the first launch of UNCSA ArtistCorps. Through UNCSA ArtistCorps she served 2 years as a Visual Arts Instructor 2015-2017 in WSFCS. She spread the arts outside of the schools’ walls to community centers. Angel and her children created a brand called No Punching in 2015. No Punching Bag fashion designers aspire to utilize their gifts and talents to create social change. In 2020, Angel completed the Creative Catalyst Program The Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

No Punching Bag fashion designers and visual artists use their experiences to create wearable art for social change. The brand has showcased collections promoting Voting, Mental Health Awareness, Suicide Prevention, Climate Control,Gun Violence Awareness, Organ Donor Awareness, Colorism, Beauty Stereotypes, Anti Racism,Domestic Violence Awareness, Eco Friendly, and more. 

Some of these collections have been featured in North Carolina Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week. These showcase opportunities captured the attention of national and international citizens and society. They drew attention and facilitated conversation around the social change at hand.

No Punching Bag’s designer team believes transparency on social issues is important. Without transparency societal improvements cannot happen. We believe fashion is a universal language and the industry is the largest platform to promote real change. Our goal is ultimately to thrive as professional business minded artists with purpose.
